Kiffin axes vets, subs, rookies
Oakland Raiders09/03/2007 9:49 AM The San Francisco Chronicle reports Raiders HC Lane Kiffin pulled away the scholarships Saturday, with some rookies and offseason add-ons getting tossed out for measure. Gone are longtimers like wide receivers Alvis Whitted and Carlos Francis, along with FB Zack Crockett. Out are second-teamers such as right OG Kevin Boothe, DT Anttaj Hawthorne and SS Donovin Darius. Missing from the final 53-man roster are rookies like DE Quentin Moses, a third-round draft pick, and fifth-round S Eric Frampton. Read more
