Brees to get a breather vs. Miami

The Times-Picayune reports Saints QB Drew Brees won't play in Thursday night's exhibition finale against the Miami Dolphins at the Superdome, and HC Sean Payton said it's likely he'll keep other front-line players on the sideline as well. "I'm probably going to start Jamie (Martin) and give him a good half's worth of work, and go with Tyler (Palko) in the second half," Payton said after Monday's practice. "There's a good chance I'll sit a number of guys. "Our approach is going to be to see how deep we are at certain positions, and if we can rest a handful of guys that would be considered for a starting position for next week's game (at the Indianapolis Colts).
