WR Johnson still not close
Detroit Lions07/29/2007 9:01 AM The Detroit Free Press reports three days of training camp have gone by, and still no deal seems imminent with WR Calvin Johnson, the second overall pick of this year's NFL draft. HC Rod Marinelli said he has planned mentally for a long holdout. "I want him here in the worst way, but I know this is the NFL," Marinelli said. "This is how things go. I'm assuming it's going to be a battle. I'm prepared for it. Don't like it, but so be it. I just have to deal with it." Read more
