Chargers pick Georgia CB in supplemental draft
San Diego Chargers07/13/2007 8:50 AM The San Diego Union-Tribune reports the Chargers added depth to their secondary today by selecting Georgia CB Paul Oliver in the fourth round of the NFL supplemental draft. Oliver initially planned to return to school for his senior season, but applied for the supplemental draft after he was ruled academically ineligible several months ago. The Chargers return their top three cornerbacks from last season in 2006 starters Quentin Jammer and Drayton Florence, as well as nickel back Antonio Cromartie. But Florence is expected to leave next offseason as a free agent, and the acquisition of Oliver will soften the impact of the departure, should it happen. Read more
