Mathis released by Falcons

04/09/2007 6:05 PM The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports Falcons' S Kevin Mathis's career most likely is over following his release after he failed a team-issued physical Monday. Mathis missed the final eight games last season after breaking his neck on a game-opening kickoff at Detroit. It was the second neck injury of Mathis's career and the second major injury for Mathis in the past two years. Read more
