Cleveland Browns03/02/2007 7:46 AM The Dayton Daily News reports the Cleveland Browns are $30 million under the NFL salary cap and poised for a big splash in free agency beginning today. If that sounds familiar, it should. They were similarly situated last year only to spend big and win little. On the heels of a 4-12 season, they continue to need help at offensive line, cornerback, running back, defensive line, receiver and possibly quarterback. "We can't just go out and sign everybody," GM Phil Savage cautioned recently. "But we have two or three guys we'd really like to get." They are expected to inquire about Buffalo cornerback (and Cleveland native) Nate Clements, Cincinnati OL Eric Steinbach and Tennessee DL Robaire Smith.
