Texans hire two assistant coaches
Houston Texans01/23/2007 9:10 AM The Houston Chronicle reports the Texans continued tweaking their coaching staff Monday. Larry Kirksey, an NFL assistant for nine years, will coach the wide receivers, and Jethro Franklin will coach the defensive line. Franklin was fired by Tampa Bay earlier this month after one season as defensive line coach. He was an assistant with Green Bay from 2000-04. Kirksey coached the wide receivers in San Francisco, Detroit and Jacksonville before his most recent stint as the assistant head coach/running backs for Middle Tennessee. He was an assistant head coach at Texas A&M in 2000. Read more
