Williams Sits in Latest Exhibition Game
Detroit Lions08/28/2006 10:15 AM The Detroit Free Press reports WR Mike Williams doesn't know why he didn't play in Friday's 21-3 loss to the Oakland Raiders. Apparently neither does HC Rod Marinelli. Williams, who received little playing time in the first two exhibition games, got no snaps in the third exhibition game. He was healthy, and Marinelli acknowledged that Williams hadn't broken any team rules. After Friday's game, Marinelli addressed the decision not to play Williams by saying: "guys earn their time in practice." On Sunday, Marinelli reiterated that statement, saying: "So much is reflected sometimes off of practice." Read more
